A Bengaluru woman working at a clinic in the city has not been paid her salary for the last three months, leading to severe stress for her as well as her close ones.

In a Reddit post, the woman's boyfriend described her present situation and said after not receiving her salary for two months, she was assured by the human resource person that her salary would be credited the following month.

However, when she failed to get her salary for a third month in a row the woman was informed that the clinic was making losses and if she wished to get even her basic salary in future, then the patients visiting the clinic must undergo a surgery or any other medical treatment. "So my girlfriend works as a consultant for a clinic. And she hasn't got her salary for three months. For the first two months the HR had told her that she will get her salary next month. But this month the HR had told her that since the clinic is running at a loss she can't be paid even her basic salary. The HR told her that if she wants money she should assure that the patients who walk in opt for some treatment or surgery," the man wrote in the post.

He further said that her girlfriend had signed a two-year employment bond and still had six months left to serve, before she could quit the clinic with all the required documents. "My girlfriend has a bond there for 2 years and has been working there for 1.5 years. She says she can't leave the clinic before the 6 months are over as she won't get her experience certificate and she'd be treated as a fresher elsewhere".

"Other people are getting atleast 25% of their salary but she is not even getting paid as she is in a bond and has no other option but to stay there," the man added, before ending the post by asking for suggestions from other Reddit users.

The post saw many comments from users, some of whom suggested that the woman should send a legal notice to the clinic.

"If they are not investing in her training , the value of toilet paper is more than that bond. Hire a good lawyer and serve a legal notice. The matter should get closed at the earliest," one user wrote.

"Lawyer here, send legal notice. They'll most probably pay up because the amount will be less I assume," another user wrote.
