Microblogging platform Twitter, now called X, introduced a custom animation to its ‘like’ button ahead of the Apple event 2023. Apple launched its next generation of iPhones, as well as new watches, during the event in Cupertino, California.

Ahead of the Apple event 2023, Twitter introduced a new feature for all posts using the hashtag #AppleEvent. When you press the heart-shaped ‘like’ button on a post using said hashtag, the heart briefly breaks into silver-grey fragments before coming together again.

According to Macrumours, this animation is meant to reflect the Apple logo graphics and might be a subtle nod to the company’s use of titanium frames in the iPhone 15 Pro. The Pro's use of titanium makes it lighter and stronger than previous models of other metals.

Apple launched a new series of iPhones that included a new titanium shell, a faster chip and improved video game playing abilities. It also showed off new watches, including a Series 9 Watch with a feature called "double tap" where users tap thumb and finger together twice, without touching the watch, in order to perform tasks like answering a phone call.
