Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has launched music and video streaming apps Mi Music and Mi Video in India. While the Mi Music app was launched in India on May 2, the Mi Video app will be available for download only from next week. The apps were launched at the Mi Pop Play event.
The apps, which were already existing on Mi Store, have been relaunched by the company after some heavy overhaul. Though the revamped Mi Music app is available for download already, users will have to wait till next week for a stable version of the Mi Video app.
The company has tied up with content providers such as SonyLIV, Hungama Play, Voot, AltBalaji, Zee5, Viu, TVF, Flickstree and Sun NXT to bring video conetnts on the Mi Video app. According to the company, the app will bring the largest content integration providing the users with more than 500,000 hours of content across 15 Indian languages.
The revamped Mi Music app provides features such as Dynamic lyrics for users who love Karaoke. Apart from being able to sing along the lyrics, the app allows users to skip to their favourite part with just a click.
Xiaomi has also promised to add features such as one-tap cast on the Mi Video app, where users will be able to cast the content onto their televisions. The app supports features such as DLNA, Miracast, multi-lingual subtitles, private folders, multiple audio track support. The app supports most video formats such as AVI, MP4, MOV, MKV, FLV, TS, RMVB, 3GP, MPG, among others.The tech giant, which is also the number one smartphone brand in India, has promised to roll-out personalised recommendations with future updates.
