Gaming firm Razer unveils powerful smartphone loaded with premium features

The mobile phone will be backed by a 4000 mAh battery and Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ for swift and efficient charging.

Gaming firm Razer has finally unveiled its smartphone i.e. Razer Phone on its official website. The unveiling comes after an image of the California-based company’s smartphone was leaked online.

The phone had appeared on a popular UK-based website 3G.co.uk earlier and became a topic for numerous online discussions.

The model, which is called Razer Phone spots a 5.72-inch IGZO display with 120Hz refresh rate. Backed by UltraMotion technology the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile processor, the smartphone comes with 8GB RAM and an internal storage capacity of 64 GB that can be extended using micro-SD card. According to a report in Gadgets 360, the smartphone will be initially operated using Android 7.1.1 Nougat, the phone will be upgraded to Android Oreo by the next year.

On the audio front, the handset will have Dolby Atmos sound and will come with front-facing speakers and amplifiers that are certified by THX. The mobile will have a dual-camera set up in the rear having 12 MP and 13 MP sensors with dual tone and dual LED flash. It will also have an 8MP front camera suitable for taking selfies.

Razer, which was founded originally in Singapore has created a niche for itself in manufacturing hardware products, particularly for gamers. The firm made its first step towards manufacturing smartphones after acquiring mobile manufacturer Nextbit earlier this year.

Priced at approximately Rs 45,000, the phone will soon be available for pre-booking. It will also come in various stores in North America and Europe by the middle of the month.
