Crossovers may not be dominating the market in any particular way, but there is an audience for it. The rugged appeal of an SUV packed into a small form factor hatchback has been a thing and Tata Motors wants to jump back into that bandwagon. The Tata Tiago NRG did make a brief appearance back in 2018 but was soon removed after the facelifted Tiago showed up. This little crossover is now all set to make its comeback in an all-new guise. Tata Motors has released a teaser image giving us a very tiny view into what we can expect.

What we do know is that the Tiago NRG is going to be a Tiago with a bodykit slapped. This could mean redesigned bumpers, black cladding all around, and faux skid plates on the front and back. This will add a little to the dimensions of the car as well, but the wheelbase will stay exactly the same at 2,400 mm.
Other changes could include a new set of 14-inch alloys and tweaked interiors to keep the car fresh. Expect an all-black interior treatment, multi-function steering wheel, seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Harman audio and automatic climate control.
Powering the Tiago NRG should be the same engine as the standard car – a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol that produces 85 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic transmission options are likely. The Tata Tiago NRG is all set to launch on August 4, next week. As for pricing, expect a start at about Rs 5.50 lakh.
