KTM could give the RC 125 the same engine as the 125 Duke, which is a 124.7CC, single-cylinder motor.
Bajaj-owned KTM recently launched the 125 Duke in India. With its successful sales, it seems that the Austrian company is gearing up to launch its faired version, the RC 125.
The baby RC was spotted undisguised around Pune, as per a report in Zigwheels. While it is already on sale in European markets, it is yet to make its debut in India. It shares a lot of design elements with the bigger RCs, including the RC 200 and RC 390.
However, it is expected that KTM will not give the RC 125 a side slung exhaust but will go for the underbelly exhaust found in earlier generations.
The bike which was spotted had a white fairing and orange tank, bearing resemblance to the new-gen RC200. It is expected that like its bigger siblings, the RC 125 will also be offered in one colour only. It also gets an RC 125 graphic on the undertail.
KTM could give the RC 125 the same engine as the 125 Duke, which is a 124.7CC, single-cylinder motor which makes 14.5PS of maximum power and 12Nm of peak torque. It could be built on the lines of the RC 200, borrowing elements like chassis and mechanical components. It could also carry the same kerb weight as the 200. The company could also offer a single-channel ABS unit as standard.Although there are no official announcements on the launch of the RC 125 in India, it could be safe to assume that if launched, it will be priced under the Rs 1.40 lakh mark and will be pitted against the likes of Suzuki Gixxer SF and Yamaha R15 V3 among others.
