Geneva Auto Show 2014: Porsche lineup

Porsche has two world premieres and one showcase at the Geneva Motor Show. Porsche had the world premiere ofthe 919 Hybrid race car and the new Porsche Macan S diesel SUV, while the 911 RSR, which began its season with a class victory at Daytona,was also on display.

Porsche 919 Hybrid racecar

2.0-litre turbocharged V4 petrol engine, with two hybrid systems to boot, power the 919 RSR[/caption]Porsche says that the 919 is the most complex race car it has ever built. At the heart of the car is a 2.0litre, 4-cylinder engine which produces 507PS and redlines at 9000rpm.This car has been designed not only to be the fastest but also to travel the farthest on a given amount of energy. Porsche 911 RSR

The 911 RSR will compete in the GT class of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2014 as well as the World Endurance Championship[/caption]This years 911 RSR has already started its racing season on a winning note by being the class victor of Daytona 24-hour race. The engine is a 4.0litre, flat six capable of 476PS mated to a six-speed gearbox with paddle shifters. The car gets its performance by focusing on lightweight design and better aerodynamics. Two 911 RSR's will be inducted in to competition at this years World Endurance Championships which begin in April.

Macan S diesel

Macan S diesel is a sports vehicle intended for long drives. With its 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder engine generating 261PS/580Nm power/torque figures, those drives can be a lot of fun as well. The compact SUV covers the 0-100kmph mark in 6.3 seconds and is limited to a top speed of 230kmph. Fuel efficiency figures are impressive when you consider the performance.
