Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Kawasaki coming alone for the first time in the Auto Expo 2018 has unveiled two new models -- 650cc Vulcan S and 1000cc Ninja H2 SX.
Vulcan S targets mid-level motorcycle enthusiasts. It sports liquid-cooled 2 cylinder fuel injection engine which delivers 60bhp @7500 rpm and a torque of 63 bhp at 6600 rpm.
The bike gives the rider 18 different riding positions with its adjustable seats, handlebar and footpegs. The bike is priced at Rs 5.44 lakh (ex-showroom). In India, the bike is available only in black colour.
Ninja H2 SE features 998cc 4-stroke liquid-cooled engine which delivers a power output of 210 ps @ 11000 rpm and torque at 137 Nm @ 9500 rpm.
The bike is available for booking from February 7 and has two editions-- Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX at Rs 28.8 lakh and Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX SE at Rs 26.8 Lakh.
The company has also put on display many models which include the Versys-X 300, 948cc Z900 and 998cc Ninja ZX-10R.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX 10R sports a liquid-cooled 4-stroke engine which is mated to 6-speed transmission. The engine produces 200ps power @ 13000 rpm and 113 Nm torque @ 11,500 rpm.
Similarly, Kawasaki Z900 also sports a liquid-cooled engine mated to 6-speed transmission but it produces 125 ps power at 9500 rpm and 97.5 Nm torque @ 7700 rpm.
After the end of collaboration with Bajaj Auto in April last year, the company has decided to wade its way into the Indian markets on its own. The company has also moved out its assembly operations from Bajaj Auto’s Akurdi plant some months ago to its brand-new plant in Chakan in Maharashtra which has a capacity of 16000 units per annum.
The company managed by India Kawasaki Motors Pvt Ltd - a fully owned subsidiary of Kawasaki Heavy Industries Japan - has launched a slew of new models recently. The new launches include Versys X 300 and Ninja 650 KRT edition.
