A dream workplace: Inside Flipkart’s swanky new office in Bengaluru

The largest home-grown e-tailer in the country, Flipkart, recently moved to its swanky new office compound at the Embassy Tech Village, Outer Ring Road in Bengaluru. Spread across 8.3 lakh square feet, the campus consolidates Flipkart’s bunch of offices spread across the city.

The office is designed in form of a mini-city and is connected by walkways, high streets and plenty of greenery. Yellow is the dominating theme colour of the office due to obvious reasons.

The interiors of the Flipkart headquarters are splashed in vibrant and bright colours adorned with various graffiti and murals.

The office has a total of 30 floors spanning multiple buildings and has a capacity to house 7,400 employees which Flipkart says is enough for them. The buildings are connected by nine bridges.

A basketball court on the roof, rock climbing layouts on walls, origami, puzzle games and VR games which include golf are also available for its employees.

If one gets bored with the fun activities on the campus, there are 380 meeting rooms to work — perhaps to leave hardly any scope for an excuse for not finding a meeting room for a discussion.

There are 13 internal staircases and three quiet zones inside the buildings in case employees want to take a break and seek their alone time during the day.
