The Income Tax Department today said it aims to disburse refunds of over Rs 1 lakh crore this fiscal, against Rs 73,000 crore given in the previous fiscal.
In a clear indication of the revenue department's stand, Revenue Secretary Sunil Mitra said that the government would not be able to meet its tax collection targets if petroleum duty restructuring takes place, reports CNBC-TV18 quoting sources.
The government today said a decision to free diesel prices from government control will depend on the inflation situation.
