Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments have declared loan waivers for the farmers hit by cyclone Phailin last year.
While standing paddy crops were hit in thousands of hectares in southern Odisha due to untimely rain, other crops such as vegetables, sugarcane, pulses, groundnut and cotton were also damaged.

The President has decided to cut short his visit keeping in view the weather conditions due to Phailin, Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesperson Venu Rajamony said. He said the President will arrive here this evening.
The Meteorological Department on Saturday said that cyclone Phailin could make landfall at Andhra, Odisha coast between 6 and 8 PM.
IMD, which till last night expected that the wind speed would remain limited within 185 kmph during landfall on Saturday, said in its latest bulletin that Phailin would hit with increased intensity with a maximum sustained speed of 205-215 kmph.
