Trinamool Congress members Saket Gokhale and Sagarika Ghose, along with Pramod Tiwari and Ajay Maken of the Congress demanded discussions over the alleged lapse by the Election Commission in issuing multiple 'duplicate' voter ID cards across states.
Top NDA leaders met in the capital on Wednesday where they discussed the need to effectively counter the Opposition's narrative against the government on Ambedkar and the Constitution.
"Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda has been appointed as the Leader of the House in the Council of States," Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar announced, amid thumping of desks.
Among others who also took oath include Ashokrao Shankarrao Chavan (Maharashtra), Chunnilal Garasiya (Rajasthan), Anil Kumar Yadav Mandadi (Telangana), Sushmita Dev and Mohammad Nadimul Haque (both West Bengal)
The NDA meeting will be held in Delhi on July 18 evening, while the two-day meeting of 26 opposition parties got underway in Bengaluru on July 17 evening.
Attacking the Congress government in the state, Nadda alleged that cybercrimes and crimes against women and Dalits have increased.
Party sources said the leaders took stock of the ongoing organisational and election-related exercises across the country, especially in poll-bound states.
J P Nadda will address rallies at Chandrapur in east Maharashtra and Aurangabad in the Marathwada region.
Speaking to reporters after meeting with BJP's top brass here, Bommai said several issues related to reservation in the state were discussed while asserting that the party emphasises on social justice.
Party sources said the BJP national executive will also deliberate over the strategy for the upcoming state assembly polls and review the ongoing organisational exercise.
He was addressing an election rally in Navsari town of south Gujarat for BJP candidate Rakesh Desai. Polling for Navsari seat will be held on December 1 in the first phase in the poll-bound state.
Targeting the BJP, AICC joint secretary in-charge of Youth Congress Krishna Allavaru told reporters at a press conference here, "We want to challenge the BJP on behalf of the people of Himachal Pradesh. They should seek vote not on their manifesto but on their report card”.
Releasing the BJP's 'Sankalp Patra', J P Nadda promised implementation of UCC in Himachal Pradesh if the party is voted to power and said a committee will be formed for it.
The elections to the 68-member assembly is scheduled for February 12.
J P Nadda's visit holds significance as the state Assembly elections are due in December this year.
These seats were divided into clusters and one Union minister each was appointed as their in-charge.
Addressing a press conference in Agartala, Nadda claimed that Kejriwal was trying to divert the people's attention from the alleged scam.
The visit is also important in view of the recent change in guard in the state cabinet.

"Nadda reached Dabok airport where state unit president Satish Poonia received him this morning," a party source said.
Sources said Nadda called up Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, former prime minister and JDS leader H D Devegowda while seeking to build a consensus on Murmu's candidature.
Rajnarh Singh and Nadda have also been authorised by the party to speak to various parties, including those from the opposition, on the presidential poll.
Nadda was received at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Dumdum on Tuesday evening by senior BJP leaders including state president Sukanta Majumdar.
"We are happy that he will give us direction to intensify our battle against the corrupt Trinamool Congress government, which has lost all credibility after being mired in scams. His visit will boost the morale of the rank and file of the party," Majumdar said late on Sunday.
Addressing a seminar on "Threat of Dynastic Parties to Democratic Governance", J P Nadda said dynastic parties, where a person’s interest reigns supreme, lack ideology and are a threat to democracy.
