    Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram, on Wednesday, raised questions over the performance of TRS government in Telangana while addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhawan in Hyderabad.
    "What happened to promise's of providing 3 acres land to the dalits, 12% reservation to minorities & tribes, 22 lakh double bedroom houses, free education from KG To PG, a school in every mandal? The TRS has grossly over promised & grossly under performed," said Chidambaram.

    KCR promises hike in pension if voted to power

    K Chandrashekar Rao on Tuesday said the pension of Rs 1,000 given to various sections of people would be increased to Rs 2,016 if the party was voted to power in the upcoming assembly elections.
    "I am appealing to all who get pensions, our government will come to power definitely. After that, Rs 2,016 will be given as pension to all, be they women, beedi workers, elderly people, widows," he said while addressing an election rally.

    As many as 3,584 nominations were filed by political parties for Telangana Assembly elections on Monday, according to a release issued by the office of Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar.
    The release said that officials accepted all the nominations that were submitted till 3 pm. They are expected to make the announcement on the total number nominations later.
    Scrutiny of papers is fixed for today and the last date for withdrawal of nominations is November 22.

    KTR discloses assets worth Rs 3.63 crore, 16 criminal cases

    Telangana minister in the caretaker government, KT Rama Rao has movable assets worth Rs 3.63 crore. He is facing 16 criminal cases which were filed during the separate Telangana Statehood agitation in 2011-13, according to the affidavit.

    KT Rama Rao, the son of caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, took an aim at N Chandrababu Naidu for his attempts to bring together Opposition parties to take on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on Monday.
    "Desperate times, they say, call for desperate measures," is how Rama Rao termed the efforts of Naidu, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister.
    In an interview to PTI, Rama Rao -- KTR as he is referred to by many -- alleged that Naidu was desperate because he was in a bad shape politically in his home state, where the Assembly election are due next year.
    "He (Naidu) is trying to shift the blame of his failure of governance on to the central government. He wants to give an impression that he is fighting against (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi", KTR said.

    Congress tries to convince partymen 'upset' over candidate selection

    To assuage the discontent among partymen over the selection of candidates for the Telangana Assembly elections, a three-member team of the Congress on November 18 held talks with those planning to enter the fray as rebels. Nearly 50 ticket aspirants who are "upset" with party's selection of candidates met the team led by Puducherry Chief Minister Narayana Swamy, Telangana Congress sources said.

    Senior Congress leader Sasidhar Reddy miffed at being denied ticket

    Senior Congress leader M Sasidhar Reddy, son of former Chief Minister in undivided Andhra Pradesh M Chenna Reddy, on Saturday expressed disappointment over not being given a ticket for the December 7 Telangana assembly polls, saying the reason given was that he would lose.

    KCR richer by Rs 5.5 crore but owns no car

    KCR is richer by nearly Rs 5.5 crore, and acquired 16 acres of agricultural land during the past four years, according to the affidavit he filed along with his nomination for Gajwel Assembly constituency.
    However, the TRS supremo, whose party symbol is a car, does not own one, according to the affidavit he filed on Wednesday.
    The total value of his movable and immovable assets stood at Rs 22.61 crore in the latest affidavit against Rs 15.95 crore in 2014.
    His liabilities have grown by over Rs one crore to Rs 8.89 crore.It was Rs 7.87 crore in 2014, the affidavit says.
    In the 2014 general elections, he showed that he owned 37.70 acres of agricultural land and the latest affidavit says that it is 54.24 acres.
    As per KCR, he is facing as many as 64 criminal cases related to the separate Telangana agitation. They are in various stages.

    TRS announces 10 more candidates

    The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), on Wednesday, announced 10 more candidates for the December 7 Legislative Assembly elections in the state.
    The party had earlier declared candidates for 107 Assembly segments. The total number of constituencies is 119.
    According to a TRS press release, candidates for the remaining two seats -- Musheerabad and Kodad -- would be declared in one or two days after party president K Chandrasekhar Rao completes consultations with senior party leaders.

    'Pink fight' in Telangana over ballot paper colour

    Pink colour has become a subject of controversy in the run-up to Telangana elections as the Election commission decided to continue to use the colour for ballot papers on EVMs in the December 7 Assembly polls.
    The colour 'gives jitters' to the Congress as K Chandrashekar Rao-led Telangana Rashtra Samiti uses pink as the party's official colour scheme for all its promotional material.
    There were representations to the EC from Congress not to use the colour as they feel it may influence voters towards the TRS party.
