Poll tracker leads: Jagan's YSRCP in Andhra, AIADMK in TN

According to election tracker, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy led YSR Congress Party is projected to do well in both Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Andhra Pradesh. In Tamil Nadu, a close fight between the ruling AIADMK and the main opposition the DMK in the Lok Sabha elections is in the offing.

The divided Andhra Pradesh is throwing up very interesting results. Both Assembly and Lok Sabha elections are taking place in Andhra Pradesh (Seemandhra) and the newly created state of Telangana simultaneously.

In a discussion on Speaking to CNBC-TV18, Sandeep Shastri , who is National Coordinator of Lokniti Network said Andhra Pradesh respondents were responding as if they are from two different states. The undivided state has 42 Lok Sabha seats.

According to CNN-IBN-Lokniti-CSDS election tracker, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy led YSR Congress Party is projected to do very well in both Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Andhra Pradesh. In Telangana state, the TRS led by K Chandrashekhara Rao is the most preferred choice of the people for the Assembly elections. In Lok Sabha, Telangana voters give first preference to the Congress followed by the TRS. While the TDP is in third place in Telangana, it is in the second place in Andhra Pradesh.

Joining the discussion, Veera Raghav said the Congress went ahead with Telengana hoping for a merger with TRS and there is a strong possibility of alliance. In affect the region will be throw up three strong regional players in Telengana and Seemandhra that will come into final reckoning, he said.
