GST Bill is likely to be tabled in next session of Parliament

Parliament, which begins new session on April 25, will take up pending bills, says GVL Narsimha Rao, Spokesperson, BJP.

Parliament is all set for its new session, which begins on April 2. Important question is whether pending bills, including the Goods & Services Tax (GST) Bill is passed in this session.

The government is expected to table the GST Bill in this session alongwith other pending financial bills, says GVL Narsimha Rao, Spokesperson, BJP.

However, Rajeev Gowda, Rajya Sabha MP and member of Congress says that with less number of Member of Parliament (MPs) due to on-going elections in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal, tabling of GST is unclear.

BJP hasn’t approached Congress since the last session regarding GST, Gowda says adding that other matters like drought situation and protests in Srinagar University will be taken up in this session.

Speaking on this session’s agenda, Rao says that Whistle Blower Protection Bill, industries bill are likely to be taken up.
