'Early on in the lockdown, I felt a bit claustrophobic because my movement was restricted, but now my morning start with gazing at the brilliantly blue, almost Van Goghian skies and sipping a cup of hot tea listening to birdsong.' (Image: Rajkamal Aich)

'I do miss the hustle-bustle of the city, but birdsong and azure skies more than compensate for it.' (Image: Rajkamal Aich)

'I was an early iPad user and have always enjoyed its handiness but now I enjoy the creative urgings I get within the four walls of my room and constantly doodle on my iPad, which they say has been voted the best gadget to deal with the pandemic.'(Image: Rajkamal Aich)

'Work starts early, with my young kid keeping me company. At tome, to placate him, I make some quick drawings for him too.' (Image: Rajkamal Aich)

'To take a break from work, I go to the kitchen and think about innovating some dishes and surprising my wife with my culinary skills. But unfortunately not all artists are blessed with cooking talent. And i mostly end up making a mess in the kitchen and the mess I leave in the cooking area at times resembles a doodle my son makes in his tentative effort to be a child prodigy.' 'I stay mostly locked down in the room, but there are days one has to cautiously venture out to buy groceries.' (Image: Rajkamal Aich)

'Being a bengali from Kolkata, I have always loved the hubbub of a chaotic city and am familiar with all the ear-splitting noise that a berserk city emanates. Delhi, in terms of noise, is not far behind Kolkata.' (Image: Rajkamal Aich)

'But these days when i step out of the house, an eerie silence welcomes me. Sometimes I wonder would this be the kind of silence that would have reigned in The Garden of Eden had Adam and Eve not been there?' (Image: Rajkamal Aich)

'The purchase of groceries, which was earlier a boring, soul-killing chore, has suddenly become exciting, affording me a chance to cross the threshold of my house and go out into the silent world.' (Image: Rajkamal Aich)

'Earlier in Delhi, AQI and other complicated pollution jargon used to create a whirlwind in my brain as i went out, but now all that has thankfully disappeared.'(Image: Rajkamal Aich)

'There is a much different, scarier jargon that has replaced it. But it doesn't much bother me. At least the dreaded, unbreathable air has gone away.' (Image: Rajkamal Aich)

'I stand in one of the many circle that shops have painted at their entrances and wonder what Raza, the great master of concentric circles, would have done with this improvised art to enforce social distancing.' (Image: Rajkamal Aich)

'A kid of a colleague suddenly pops into the frame, wiggles his fingers and hastily disappears. My kid, who is fiercely competitive, wants to emulate. There is no concept of virtual social distancing, thankfully. And then, as some kids get more and more camera friendly, the frame on the phone screen begin to jiggle and shake.' 'But the conversations stay the course and many new ideas come out of these virtual conferences.' (Image: Rajkamal Aich)
'You do not need to leave your room, said Kafka, that enigmatic master of long silences, the world will freely offer itself to you. And in these times of enforced seclusion, it does.' (Image: Rajkamal Aich)

'The crazy streaks of lightening that garland the sky when thunder rolls in with a boom; the building-choked horizon of the city free of grime and smog and dust giving one a magical vision that can see for mile; the striking scars at night that have made their grand appearance in Delhi after many sooty years, making you long for a modern Wordsworth who could capture all this in his lofty words.'
