A fresh wave of COVID-19 infections made worse by a vaccine shortage could throw a spanner in the auto sector's recovery. It is among the few sectors to have bounced back quickly from the lockdown's after effects. Companies have reported encouraging sales numbers in the last six months. In the March quarter, domestic wholesales across segments had reinforced the positive sales trend seen in the December quarter.
