The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Harsatinder Pal Singh Hayer, the son-in-law of the late Nirmal Singh Bhangoo, in connection with the M/s PACL & others case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002. Hayer has been remanded to ED custody by the Special Court (PMLA). The case stems from a CBI FIR regarding fraudulent investment schemes that defrauded investors of around Rs. 48,000 crore.

A professor from NIT Silchar was arrested following sexual harassment allegations filed by a female student. They lodged a case and began the investigation, eventually finding the accused professor hiding in a secret location, where he was arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
