UP emerging as hub for high-end electronics production: CM Yogi Adityanath on Rs 3,700 crore semiconductor plant at Jewar

After the semiconductor manufacturing plant at Jewar was announced, CM Yogi tweeted: "Under the leadership of PM Modi, the Union Cabinet has approved the establishment of a semiconductor unit in Uttar Pradesh's Yamuna Authority region (YEIDA) - a historic step towards 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'."

After the Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved a semiconductor wafer manufacturing plant at a cost of Rs 3,706 crore at Jewar near Noida, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and termed it as a historic step towards 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'. The chief minister stated that India is moving towards becoming a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing with Uttar Pradesh at the forefront of this revolution.

CM Yogi tweeted: "Under the leadership of PM Modi, the Union Cabinet has approved the establishment of a semiconductor unit in Uttar Pradesh's Yamuna Authority region (YEIDA) - a historic step towards 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'."

"With an investment of Rs 3,700 crore, the unit will manufacture display driver chips for mobile phones, laptops, automobiles and various other devices. India is now moving towards global leadership in semiconductor manufacturing and UP is emerging as a hub for high-end electronics and semiconductor production," he added.

The semiconductor production plant will be setup under an HCL-Foxconn semiconductor joint venture at an estimated cost of Rs 3,706 crore.
