On the ocasssion of the groundbreaking ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Patna-based Mahavir Mandir Trust said it would begin distributing 1.25 lakh Raghupati laddoos.
The pure ghee used to make these laddoos were sourced from Bengaluru, while the gram flour was brought in over from Australia, the Indian Express reported. According to the report, the other ingredients that go into its making include saffron from Pulwama in Kashmir, cashew from Kerela, raisins, cardamom as well as sugar from Patna.
Of the total amount of laddoos to be distributed, 51,000 of these will be given to the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The remaining laddoos will be given to Sitamarhi in Bihar, the birthplace of Lord Ram's consort Janaki and 25 other pilgrimage places where Lord Ram's footprints are believed to lie.
The rest of the laddoos are to be distributed among devotees of Lord Ram across Bihar, the report said.
The Mahavir Mandir Trust has donated Rs 2 crore and is set to donate Rs 10 crore to the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
