Union defence minister Rajnath Singh will initiate the discussion on Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha on July 28 (Monday) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to intervene, sources have told news agency ANI.
Other ministers participating in the discussion will include Home Minister Amit Shah and Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, BJP MPs Anurag Thakur, and Nishikant Dubey.
The discussion on Operation Sindoor will begin in the Rajya Sabha on July 29 (Tuesday) with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, and other ministers participating.
Both Houses will hold 16-hour discussions on the topic.
The decision to allocate dedicated time was taken during a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) held earlier on July 23 (Wednesday), according to a report by CNN-News18.
This came as the Opposition has sought answers from Prime Minister Narendra Modi over US President Donald Trump’s repeated claims that he helped broker a ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan.
Operation Sindoor was India’s retaliatory response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives. As part of the operation launched on May 7, nine major terror camps were targeted by India in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
