PM Modi asserted that Operation Sindoor was still in effect

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a dig at his Pakistani counterpart  Shehbaz Sharif  in Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

“You must’ve seen the statements of those who were busy in the swimming pool… while we were striking their soil," said PM Modi.

Sharif in May had said he was swimming while India launched precision strikes on his country under Operation Sindoor.

“At around 2.30 am on May 10, General Syed Asim Munir called me on a secure line and informed me that India’s ballistic missiles had hit Nur Khan Airbase and other areas. Our Air Force used homegrown technology to save our country, and they even used modern gadgets and technology on Chinese jets. After Fajr (Namaz), I went for a swim, carrying my secure phone with me. The phone rang for the second time—it was General Asim Munir on the line. He informed me that Pakistan had retaliated against India," the Pakistan PM said.

India launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ on May 7 to decisively respond to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people were killed.

PM Modi also said that Operation Sindoor was still in effect, and Pakistan would be responsible for any future actions. He said India would give a befitting reply if Pakistan tries anything. "...From Sindoor to the Sindhu, action has been taken deep inside Pakistan. Operation Sindoor has made it clear that any terrorist attack on India will come at a heavy cost for its masterminds and for Pakistan...," he said.

PM Modi also said  that Pakistan begged for a ceasefire on the night of May 10. “They said, ‘bahut maara, ab jyada maar jhelne ki takat nahi hai,’ and asked us to stop the war,” he said.

According to PM Modi, OperationSindoor made it clear that India has decided on three points. "If there is a terrorist attack on India, we will respond in our own method, on our conditions and on our time. No nuclear blackmail would work now. We will not see terrorist-supporting governments and terror masterminds as two separate entities," said the PM.
