Nita Ambani commends Vantara as a ‘beacon of hope’ for wildlife at India House event in Paris

Nita Ambani, Founder & Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, at the recent India House event in Paris, highlighted "Vantara", led by her son Anant Ambani, as a crucial initiative in animal rescue and rehabilitation, referring to it as a "beacon of hope and healing."

Ambani lauded Vantara’s rescue and rehabilitation centers for offering a home to over 2,000 animal species from around the world. “With Anant Ambani's passionate leadership, and with the Reliance Foundation's support, Vantara is restoring balance and preserving the intricate harmony of life,” she said.

Ambani stated that Vantara represents the fundamental Indian philosophy of empathy and respect for all living beings.

The presentation at India House provided visitors from around the world with a glimpse of Vantara’s harmonious efforts, showcasing its significant role in wildlife preservation and its dedication to the core values of compassion and respect for nature.

Ambani's remarks underscored Vantara's role in promoting global conservation efforts and highlighted its impact in offering a home and rehabilitation for diverse animal species. “In Vanara's rescue and rehabilitation centres, over 2000 species of animals from all over the world have found a home. Vantara is a reminder of the core Indian philosophy of empathy and respect for all living beings,” Ambani said.

Ambani who is also International Olympic Committee (IOC) member officially inaugurated India House, marking India’s first-ever country house at the Olympic Games, during the Paris 2024 Olympics, on July 27. In her speech, she highlighted the significance of this milestone for India and its Olympic ambitions. Ambani elaborated on the vision behind India House, emphasizing its role as a symbol of India’s Olympic aspirations.

About Vantara:

The Vantara program, initiated by Anant Ambani and supported by the Reliance Foundation, is a comprehensive wildlife rescue and rehabilitation effort. Spanning 3,000 acres at Reliance’s Jamnagar Refinery Complex in Gujarat, Vantara is dedicated to the care of over 2,000 animals from 43 species. The initiative focuses on rescuing, treating, and rehabilitating injured and threatened animals from both India and abroad. Key facilities include a 25,000 sq ft elephant hospital, a 14,000 sq ft specialized kitchen, and a 100,000 sq ft medical research center. Vantara has rescued more than 200 elephants, thousands of other animals, and supports their care with a team of over 500 professionals.
