An anti-terrorism court Monday sent former prime minister Imran Khan on a 14-day judicial remand in connection with seven cases related to the recent protests by his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party.

Khan, 72, was presented before the anti-terrorism court judge at Adiala jail, where he has been incarcerated for months, after the completion of a six-day police remand in a separate case about his party's September 28 protest in Rawalpindi.

Judge Amjad Ali Shah presided over the hearing, during which the court approved Khan's judicial remand in the New Town police station case, as well as in six other cases.

Everybody was of the view that it is not appropriate to waste people's money. The Opposition also put forward their demand, there was a proposal in business advisory committee to have discussion on the Constitution, the government has agreed to it, the discussion will be happening on December 13-14 (Friday-Saturday), first it will be discussed in Lok Sabha. On December 16-17, the discussion on the Constitution will happen in the Rajya Sabha. Apart from this, the Speaker asked for proper following of procedure to raise issues, everybody agreed to it. Supreme Court says no to relaxation on Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP)-IV measures to curb air pollution in Delhi, clarifying that it will permit relaxations only after observing a downward trend.

SC says that it will hear the parties on Thursday (5th December) on the aspects of modification of applicability of GRAP IV

SC directs CAQM (Commission for Air Quality Management) to take steps in communicating the mitigating measures to all concerned authorities and to coordinate efforts to ensure implementation of these mitigating measures

SC also takes into account the shocking things revealed from reports of court commissioners and notes that there is complete lack of coordination between MCD, Delhi Police, DPCC and other authorities and says that it is the responsibility of the commission to co-ordinate activities of all these entities with a view to ensure that measures are implemented.

SC directs Delhi Police to ensure that members of the Bar who are court commissioners are adequately protected.

Deal to procure 26 Rafale-M jets to be inked soon: Navy chief

India is set to seal the proposed procurement of 26 naval variant of Rafale jets and three additional Scorpene submarines soon, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi said on Monday.

At a media briefing ahead of Navy Day, Admiral Tripathi also said that the government's approval for two SSNs (nuclear-powered submarines) indicated its faith in the country's indigenous capabilities to build such boats.

The Navy chief also said that 62 ships and a submarine are currently under construction within the country as part of efforts to boost its naval power.

A large number of platforms are waiting for induction in the next one year and at least one ship will be inducted into the Navy, he said.

Australia proposed a law on Monday that could impose fines of up to A$50 million ($33 million) on global technology companies if they suppress competition and prevent consumers from switching between services.

US bitcoin, ether ETFs log record inflows on Trump’s embrace of crypto

US exchange-traded funds investing directly in Bitcoin and Ether are enjoying unprecedented demand, buoyed by President-elect Donald Trump’s pledge to unfetter the crypto industry from regulatory shackles.

The groups of Bitcoin and Ether ETFs each posted record monthly net inflows in November, $6.5 billion and $1.1 billion respectively, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Friday’s daily Ether ETF subscriptions also hit an all-time peak.

Russia's drone attack on Ukraine's western city of Ternopil hit a residential building, killing one person and injuring several others, Ternopil's military administration said on Monday.

"A residential building was damaged," Viacheslav Negoda, the head of the military administration of Ternopil region, said on his Telegram messaging channel. "Unfortunately, there are casualties: one person has died, there are seriously wounded."

U.S. President Joe Biden said on Sunday he had pardoned his son, Hunter Biden, who had been convicted of making false statements on a gun background check and illegally possessing a firearm and pled guilty to federal tax charges.

"Today, I signed a pardon for my son Hunter. From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with the Justice Department’s decision-making, and I kept my word even as I have watched my son being selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted," he said in a statement released by the White House.

Major Adani investor GQG shares fall 13% after analyst downgrade

Shares of Australian-listed GQG Partners fell 13% on Monday after UBS analysts downgraded the stock and estimated the firm could have lost A$600 million ($390 million) in funds under management following the Adani Group indictment.

GQG is a major backer of Adani Group companies, whose founder Gautam Adani and seven other company associates have been indicted by U.S authorities on bribery charges. Adani Group says the allegations are baseless and has vowed to seek "all possible legal recourse".

UBS downgraded GQG from a buy to a neutral rating and reduced the stock's price target from A$3.30 to A$2.30.

Russian and Syrian jets struck the rebel-held city of Idlib in northern Syria on Sunday, military sources said, as President Bashar al-Assad vowed to crush insurgents who had swept into the city of Aleppo.

Residents said one attack on the second day of raids hit a crowded residential area in the centre of Idlib, the largest city in a rebel enclave near the Turkish border where around four million people live in makeshift tents and dwellings.

At least seven people were killed and dozens injured, according to rescuers at the scene. The Syrian army and its ally Russia say they target the hideouts of insurgent groups and deny attacking civilians.
