The Karnataka election counting is still on and the trends indicate that it will be difficult for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to form a government in the state.

The Saffron party was leading in as many as 105 seats and was seen emerging as the single largest party in the state. However, Janata Dal (Secular) and Congress have agreed to side with each other. Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi has reportedly spoken to JD(S) supremo HD Deve Gowda.
