Delhi weather: Met dept predicts rains, thunderstorms; Yamuna near evacuation level

The minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 26.7 degrees Celsius — 0.2 notches below normal for this time of the year.

Delhi weather: Delhi and the surrounding national capital region (NCR) will likely witness rain and thunderstorms on Tuesday, the India Meteorological Department said in it weather prediction.

Regional Meteorological Centre New Delhi shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), "19/08/2025: 08:30 IST; Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by light thunderstorm and lightning is very likely to occur at Deoband, Nazibabad, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnaur, Khatauli, Sakoti Tanda, Hastinapur (U.P.) Dausa, Viratnagar (Rajasthan). Light rainfall is very likely to occur at Delhi ( Ayanagar), NCR (Gurugram), Shamli, Kandhla, Daurala (U.P.) Kotputli, Alwar, Rajgarh, Mahandipur Balaji (Rajasthan) during the next 2 hours."

On Tuesday, the minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 26.7 degrees Celsius — 0.2 notches below normal for this time of the year. The relative humidity hovered around 97 percent at 8.30 am, the weather department said, and added that the maximum temperature is likely to settle around 35 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, the air quality remained in the "satisfactory" category with an Air Quality Index (AQI) reading of 90, as per the Central Pollution Control Board's (CPCB) 9 am bulletin.
