Cow vigilantes abduct, assault Gurugram meat supplier on eve of Eid

A 25-year-old meat supplier from Gurugram was abducted from the Sadar Bazaar area by cow vigilantes on July 31 on the suspicion that he was carrying beef.

According to a News18 report, the victim, who has been identified as Lukman Khan, sustained multiple injuries during the assault including a fractured skull. He is being treated at a hospital and his condition is said to be stable but critical.

The incident took place when Khan arrived at Sadar Bazaar in Gurugram to supply buffalo meat to one Tahir at the market. A group of bikers surrounded him there and began attacking him with sticks and rods. Later, when policemen and people started assembling at the site of the assault, he was kidnapped in a pick-up truck and taken towards Sohna Road, reported the Times of India.

Luckily for Khan, the police pursued the truck and were able to rescue the victim. However, the cow vigilantes reportedly misbehaved with the police, attacked them, and damaged their vehicles before fleeing.
