Low-lying areas are being flooded by rivers that nearly all have a rising tendency throughout their courses.

The sudden increase in water levels in the Bagmati River has led to flooding in hundreds of houses across 18 panchayats in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district.

Due to this, lakhs of people in those panchayats have lost contact with the block headquarters and district headquarters, causing significant distress. Water has also risen on both sides of the Pipapul.

Many schools in the affected areas have been inundated with floodwater, causing significant disruption to the education of hundreds of children. "When the water level in the Bagmati River rises, floods like this occur at the school. We arrived at the school on time, and the children also came punctually, but the water level is up to knee-high. We have informed the authorities about the situation and have granted the children a holiday. We will proceed according to further instructions from the authorities," stated a school staff member.
