Amid demands for justice for Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash, his wife’s family has expressed regret over his death while maintaining they are not guilty. In an interaction with CNN-News18, they stated that they will soon present evidence to prove their lack of involvement in the tragic incident.

“We are not guilty of what happened. We will come out with all the proof soon. We have done nothing wrong. We regret Atul’s death,” the family of Nikita Singhania was quoted as saying by CNN-News18.

The 34-year-old techie died by suicide on December 9. He left behind a 24-page death note accusing his wife and her relatives of harassment. Subhash's body was found hanging at his residence in the Manjunath Layout area, which falls under the Marathahalli police station limits, police told PTI. A placard reading "Justice is due" was found in the room where he ended his life.

An FIR has been filed against four people in connection with the suicide. The FIR based on a complaint by Atul's brother Bikas Kumar was lodged at the Marathahalli police station in Bengaluru.
