India's tech capital Bengaluru is now connected to 100 non-stop destinations.
"Hundred passenger destinations are now connected non-stop from Bengaluru airport. This is a significant milestone in our journey to becoming the natural gateway to South and Central India," said Satyaki Raghunath, Chief Operating Officer of Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL), which operates the city’s Kempegowda International Airport (KIA).
Of the 100 destinations, 72 are domestic and 28 international. Sources told Moneycontrol that IndiGo's flight to Jabalpur is the latest addition from the airport.

"Starting with 9 million passengers in our first year, we now have two runways and terminals and will cater to over 40 million passengers and 465,000 MT of cargo this fiscal year. Over the next decade, we expect to serve more than 85 million passengers and handle over a million MT of cargo annually," Raghunath said.

KIA commenced operations on May 24, 2008, in Devanahalli, around 40 km from the Central Business District. "On December 1, 2023, it became the country’s third-busiest airport, after Delhi and Mumbai, having crossed 300 million passengers since its inception.
Canadian billionaire Prem Watsa's Fairfax Group holds a majority stake of 64 percent in BIAL, while Siemens Project Ventures holds 10 percent. The remaining 26 percent is held equally by the Karnataka State Industrial & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited and the Airports Authority of India.
