On June 21, the Delhi HC granted an interim stay on the trial court's bail order to the AAP national convenor in the money laundering case related to the alleged liquor policy scam.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal moved the Supreme Court on June 23, challenging the Delhi High Court’s stay on his bail order granted by the trial court in the liquor policy scam money laundering case. According to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Kejriwal's lawyers have requested a hearing on June 24 morning, reported PTI.

On June 21, the Delhi High Court granted an interim stay on the trial court's bail order to the AAP national convenor in the money laundering case related to the alleged liquor policy scam.

The High Court also issued a notice to Kejriwal, seeking his response to the Enforcement Directorate's plea challenging the trial court's June 20 order granting him bail.

"Till the pronouncement of this order, the operation of the impugned order shall remain stayed," stated a vacation bench of the high court, directing the parties to file written submissions by June 24.

The high court announced it was reserving the order for two to three days to thoroughly review the entire case records.

The court scheduled the plea for hearing on July 10. In its bail order, the trial court stated that prima facie, Kejriwal's guilt was yet to be established and that the ED had failed to provide direct evidence linking him to the proceeds of crime in the money-laundering case.

The excise policy was scrapped in 2022 after the Delhi lieutenant governor ordered a CBI probe into alleged irregularities and corruption in its formulation and execution.

According to the ED and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), irregularities were committed during policy modifications, and undue favors were extended to the license holders.
