In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly Elections, Nawab Malik (NCP) won Anushakti Nagar with 65,217 votes, securing a vote share of 46.84 percent. He defeated Shiv Sena's Tukaram Ramkrushna Kate, who received 52,466 votes (37.68 percent), by a margin of 12,751 votes. Independent candidate Yasin Ismail Sayed secured the third position with 7,701 votes (5.53 percent), while MNS's Vijay Suresh Raorane took the fourth position with 5,879 votes (4.22 percent). The total number of valid votes cast in 2019 was 1,36,936.

In the 2014 Maharashtra Assembly Elections, BJP’s Tukaram Ramkrushna Kate won with 39,966 votes (29.54 percent vote share), defeating Nawab Malik, who polled 38,959 votes (28.80 percent). Kate's victory margin was just 1,007 votes. Other candidates in 2014 included BJP’s Vitthal Ambaji Kharatmol, who secured 23,767 votes (17.57 percent), and Congress's Rajendra Jagannath Mahulkar, who received 17,615 votes (13.02 percent). A total of 1,33,712 valid votes were cast in the constituency that year.
