In India alone, there are over 2.25 million cancer patients, with 0.8 million people estimated to die from the disease every year. Mumbai-based Epigeneres Biotechnology and Singapore-based Tzar Labs, led by Himanshu Roy's father-in-law scientist Vinay Kumar Tripathi and his sons, Anish and Ashish, have come up with a novel blood test that can not only detect cancer at the pre-tumour stage, but also tell if a person is at the risk of getting cancer for the next year.
