India to have new GDP, CPI series by February 2026

The government is targeting 2022-23 as the base for the new GDP series

India will have a new GDP and CPI series by February 2026, Moneycontrol has learnt.

“We are working on revisions of GDP and CPI series,” Saurabh Garg, secretary, Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation said at an event organised by Centre for Economic Data and Analysis, Ashoka University on November 29.

Moneycontrol had earlier reported that the government was working on rolling out the new GDP estimates in the last quarter of FY26.
