While revenge may be on RR's mind having lost the first leg game, it will need to play out of its skin to come out winners.
Rajasthan Royals' (RR) desire to move up the pecking order got a boost following an incredible win a week ago, and the mid-table team would look to keep the momentum going in its Indian Premier League (IPL) game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) here Sunday.
The Royals are aware of the challenges facing them at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, a few days after Sunrisers Hyderabad got the better of Kings XI Punjab to grab the second position in the standings.
While SRH have won five out of their seven games so far, Rajasthan Royals are placed fifth with three victories and as many losses.
Timing – 8 pm
Venue – Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur
Where to watch – Star Sports 1 & Star Sports 1 HD
Head to Head:
The two sides have met eight times in the tournament’s history. With four-match wins each, RR and SRH are standing neck-and-neck.
Earlier in the season, the Sunrisers Hyderabad had registered a 9-wicket win over the Royals in Hyderabad.
Reports suggest that pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar trained along with the team. This could be a sign that he is recovering. If he is declared fit to play tonight, either Sandeep Sharma or Basil Thampi will have to stay in the dugout.
Prediction: Who will win?
The Sunrisers are coming out of two consecutive wins while the Royals are returning to play after a one-week gap. They had defeated Mumbai Indians on last Sunday. While the match may turn out to be among equals, the short break may assist the Royals. They may be the more relaxed side out of the two.
Moneycontrol Dream 11: Ajinkya Rahane (captain), Shikhar Dhawan, Sanju Samson, Ben Stokes, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Manish Pandey, Rashid Khan, Siddarth Kaul, Jaydev Unadkat, Shreyas Gopal and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Players to watch out for:
Shikhar Dhawan, SRH: The Sunrisers opener has been in decent form this season, I spite of two hushed innings.
The team will be relying on Dhawan at the top to help them cruise into the Playoffs. So far, the left-handed batsman has scored 146 runs off six matches including an unbeaten 76-run knock. He is striking the ball at 136.44.
Jofra Archer, RR: The 23-year-old was picked by the Royals for Rs 7.2 million in the auction. Archer picked three wickets on his IPL debut and has been switching gears since. Archer’s performance is key for the Royals in tonight’s match against the Sunrisers.
IPL points table
Sunrisers are placed second on the points table with 10 points of seven matches. The Royals are on the fifth position having won three out of their six matches.
With a win, RR can move position up while SRH have a chance of topping the table with a win tonight.(With PTI inputs)Are you happy with your current monthly income?
