Right then, that brings an end to this entertaining final ODI, the series, and indeed the entire white-ball tour. India Women walk away as the dominant side, clinching both the ODI and T20I series. It’s now time for the trophy presentation, as skipper Harmanpreet Kaur steps forward to receive it and celebrate the victory with her teammates, followed by the customary team photos. England Women will now enjoy a well-earned break before turning their focus to the upcoming ODI World Cup in a couple of months, while India Women head back home to prepare for a three-match ODI series against Australia. That kicks off on 14th September at 1.30 pm IST (8 am GMT), and as always, we’ll be with you early to bring all the pre-match build-up. Until then, take care and goodbye!

Harmanpreet Kaur, the victorious skipper of India Women, is also the PLAYER OF THE MATCH AND SERIES (102 in this game and 126 runs in three matches). She says that it is a great moment for all of them, and she is happy with the way they played both T20Is and ODIs. She thanks the management and support staff for making them go at all times. She says that everyone in the team has been great on and off the field and took their opportunities well, chipping in nicely, and she is happy with the result. Says that Kranti Gaud and Shree Charani have done well in the WPL and have good experience, and they just thought to give them the chances, and they grabbed them with both hands. Further adds, they have worked very hard in the field, and she is pleased with the way they put pressure on teams while fielding. Tells that she is really pleased with her knock and dedicates this knock to her dad. Says that this was an important game and she is happy that she could contribute. Admits that England put them under pressure, but they were patient and were looking for the opportunities, and in the end, it was Deepti Sharma who got the big wicket. Mentions that the series was important for preparing for the World Cup, and they are now looking forward to the series against Australia before the big event.

Natalie Sciver-Brunt, the captain of England Women, says that they are happy with their performance, but the fall of wickets towards the end cost them. She says that they were well on track in the chase. She mentions that the engagement in the practice is really brilliant, but they missed a little bit, and they will continue to work hard. Says that they conceded too many runs, and they will learn from this and perform well in the World Cup. She ends by saying that India were brilliant and they were good in the field as well as with the ball, so it shows how much difference it makes in the game.

Amy Jones is ENGLAND'S PLAYER OF THE SUMMER (302 runs, 9 catches, and 3 stumpings). She says that it has always been a learning experience, and she enjoys playing cricket and her new role. She adds that India Women were a huge challenge, and they played really well. She says that she is really looking forward to the World Cup, and she is trusting her mindset and reacting to the ball.

Presentation Time...

India Women were steady with the ball, though they might have expected a more comfortable margin of victory given the sizeable target. What truly set them apart was their outstanding fielding and catching, which proved to be a key difference between the two sides. Kranti Gaud gave India the perfect start with two early breakthroughs, setting the tone. However, they could not build on it and let the hosts come back into the game. It was Shree Charani who then broke the crucial partnership to swing the momentum back in India's favour, while Deepti Sharma delivered the big blow by removing Natalie Sciver-Brunt. Charani picked up another as well, but it was Goud who stole the spotlight with a sensational six-wicket haul, fittingly wrapping the win for the visitors.

Earlier in the game, India Women piled up a commanding total of 318, led by a brilliant 102 from Harmanpreet Kaur. Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues provided strong support, while Richa Ghosh added the finishing touches with a fiery cameo. Although every English bowler chipped in with a wicket, they found it tough to stem the flow of runs, with only Sophie Ecclestone managing to keep things tight.

As long as Natalie Sciver-Brunt was out there, England had hope. She found solid support from Sophia Dunkley as well, and together they kept themselves in the game. However, just when things seemed to be tilting England’s way, Nat fell agonizingly short of a well-deserved century, dismissed for 98. Dunkley’s run-out shortly after further dented their chances. Alice Davidson-Richards did play a useful hand with a brisk 44, taking them closer, but it ultimately proved to be a consolation. Still, plenty of positives for England to carry forward as they gear up for the upcoming World Cup.

England Women had a dreadful start, losing both openers cheaply with barely anything on the board. But then came a game-changing partnership between Natalie Sciver-Brunt and Emma Lamb. The duo began cautiously, but once they got their eye in, they shifted gears effectively and kept the chase alive. Their 162-run stand, with both batters notching up well-crafted fifties, gave the hosts real hope and laid a solid foundation. After Lamb’s departure, the pressure mounted on the skipper, but she held her ground and kept England in the hunt.

India Women reign supreme in England! A superb all-round effort in the series decider sees them seal the ODI series, though it was far from a walk in the park. They had to work hard, and in the end, that brilliant spell from Kranti Gaud (6 for 52) proved to be the difference. Full credit to England Women for putting up a strong fight and taking the chase deep after posting a formidable total, but they just couldn’t get over the line in the end.
