Right then, that is it from this game and the series as well, where Australia Women clean sweeps India Women. Next up for the Aussies is a three-match ODI series against New Zealand Women with the first game scheduled on 19th December, Thursday. India Women will take on West Indies Women in a three-match T20I series with the first game set to be played on 15th December, Sunday. Until then, cheers and goodbye!

Tahlia McGrath, the victorious skipper of Australia Women expresses delight with her team's performance, highlighting Ash Gardner and Annabel Sutherland for their game-changing contributions with both bat and ball. She praises the team’s ability to step up in crucial moments, emphasizing the collective effort and mutual support throughout the series. McGrath identifies batting as the standout aspect, particularly the top-order's dominant display in the second game and Sutherland's impressive bowling performances.

Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain of India Women says that they bowled well, especially Arundhati Reddy, who kept them in the game. Adds a lot of learnings to take from this series and they will analyze it. Mentions that Smriti Mandhana was brilliant scoring that hundred and Richa Ghosh's fifty in the second game was crucial. Ends by saying that they did well in patches and did not continue with the momentum and they need to learn how to take things till the end.

Annabel Sutherland is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH and also the PLAYER OF THE SERIES for her incredible all-round contributions. She credits her performance and teamwork for Australia’s success. She acknowledges India’s bowlers, particularly the pacers, for their strong efforts but highlights the partnership with Ash Gardner as key to stabilizing the innings and capitalizing later. Sutherland reflects on the challenge of adjusting to a higher batting order but praises the team’s adaptability and execution throughout the series.

Presentation Time...

Earlier in the game, Australia Women posted a record-breaking first-innings total in Women’s ODIs at the WACA, powered by Annabel Sutherland’s brilliant century and strong fifties from Ash Gardner and Tahlia McGrath. India Women recovered well after the first Powerplay with Arundhati Reddy’s sensational four-wicket spell, the best by a visiting bowler here, but missed opportunities in the field allowed the Australians to recover and dominate the game. Deepti Sharma and a sharp run-out contributed to India’s wickets, but overall, they struggled to maintain control.

Australia Women will be delighted with their bowling effort, showcasing why they are the best in the world. Megan Schutt struck early, but India fought back until Alana King’s timely breakthrough shifted momentum. From there, Ash Gardner stole the show, dismantling the chase with a stunning five-wicket haul, including the key scalps of Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma in the 36th over. Schutt added another to snuff out India's hopes, while Annabel Sutherland chipped in with one, and Alana King got a couple to seal the deal.

Smriti Mandhana brought up her 9th ODI century, but things quickly unraveled for India Women as they faced a dramatic collapse. In a span of just five deliveries, Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Deepti Sharma were dismissed without adding a single run, reducing the visitors from a strong 189/3 to a precarious 189/6. With over 100 runs still required, the lower middle order had a mountain to climb but couldn’t rise to the occasion. Under relentless pressure, India folded for 215, falling to a crushing 83-run defeat.

India Women began their chase cautiously but faced an early blow with Richa Ghosh falling cheaply. Smriti Mandhana and Harleen Deol then steadied the innings with a fine mix of aggression and composure. Mandhana played the aggressor, bringing up her 28th ODI fifty in style, while Deol provided solid support. Their 118-run partnership looked promising, but Deol’s dismissal came at a crucial juncture. Mandhana carried on, nearing a well-deserved century, but limited support from skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, who couldn’t capitalize, left the opener with a significant task ahead.
