India ended the first session on a high when Bumrah trapped Shaun Marsh in front of the wickets on the last ball before Lunch. Marsh was dismissed on a personal score of 19. Jasprit Bumrah then wreaked havoc as he wrapped up the final three wickets within the span of 8 deliveries. He first got Paine caught behind in the 65th over and then returned to send Lyon and Hazlewood back for ducks. Bumrah finished with career-best figures of 6/33. He also became the first Asian bowler to pick up five-wicket hauls in South Africa, England and Australia in a calendar year.
