England defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets in the final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in Melbourne on November 13. This is England's second T20 WC title.

England chasing a target of 138 runs, won the match with 6 balls remaining. Ben Stokes hit the winning run as the team chased down the target. Stokes' maiden T20I half-century (52 not out off 49 balls) helped the team win the summit clash comfortably. Jos Buttler (26), Harry Brook (20) and Moeen Ali (19) were the other contributors.

This was after Jos Buttler opted to bowl first.

Left arm pacer Sam Curran's 3/12 spell restricted Pakistan batting to 137/8 in 20 overs. Shan Masood was the top-scorer for Pakistan with 38 off 28.
Babar Azam (32), Mohammad Rizwan (15), and Shadab Khan (20) were the only others who reached double figures.
