Phani Sekhar of Karvy Stock Broking told CNBC-TV18, "I haven’t seen either this morning or for the last few months at least anything on the horizon that should suggest that things are improving in the cement space. The results more or less have been disappointing barring a few regional plays and that is corroborated by the larger evidence that you are seeing in the economy right from the consumer companies to investment related companies, everyone is talking about growth hopefully reviving in the second half of this financial year."
"There isn’t anything to warrant a sudden enthusiasm in cement, so from at least near to medium term perspective since valuations were also quite stretched and earnings visibility is not very high it might be a good idea for you to hold your investments if you are sitting on large profits and if you are hopeful that over the long-term things will improve which they will. Other than that if you are planning to invest then it is a good space to invest on steep declines rather than now," he added.
