Mumbai-based marriage services aggregator The Wedding Brigade has raised USD 1 million in a pre-series A round of funding led by Blume Ventures. Other investors include Czar Capital, Mountain Pine Capital, and others.
In 2016, the company had raised about Rs 4 crore led by Blume Ventures. The company provides aggregation of services such as venues, catering, decoration, photography, and clothing needed for an Indian wedding.
The company competes with a plethora of startups in the wedding services sector including Wedmegood, Shaadisaga, BandBaja, Shaadimagic.com, and BharatMatrimony.
"This year, we aim to delve deeper into our top-performing divisions and focus on vertical integration. The industry is at an extremely exciting threshold and we are looking forward to being on the forefront of it with the support and encouragement from our customers, stakeholders, and investors," said Sanna Vohra, founder, and CEO, The Wedding Brigade.
The company aims to use the funds from this round towards expanding their team and business verticals, strengthening their community, and introducing an array of new products and services to the market.
