DSP Mutual Fund sells IT, metals; buys auto, pharma

DSP BlackRock Mutual Fund has decreased its investments from information technology, metals & mining and tobacco sector in the month of April, 2013. Sterlite Industries (India), Jaiprakash Associates and Gujarat Pipavav Port were the top sells.

DSP BlackRock Mutual Fund has decreased its investments from information technology, metals & mining and tobacco sector, while enhanced its exposure in automotive, pharmaceuticals and telecommunication sector.

Sterlite Industries (India), Jaiprakash Associates and Gujarat Pipavav Port were the top sells, while NTPC, Idea Cellular and Hindalco Industries were the top buys.

A study of the DSP BlackRock Mutual Fund portfolio for the month of April 2013 showed that in the information technology space, the fund sold Infosys, Wipro, HCL Technologies and exited from Financial Technologies. However, it purchased NIIT and KPIT Cummins Infosystems in the same space.

In the metals & mining segment, it sold Sterlite Industries (India), Tata Steel and Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation, while it bought Hindalco Industries and NMDC.

The fund sold ITC in the tobacco sector. (View - All Bulk Deals by Mutual Funds).

In the automotive space, the fund bought Maruti Suzuki India, Tata Motors (DVR), Motherson Sumi Systems and introduced Mahindra & Mahindra. While, it sold Bosch in the same space.

The fund purchased Dr Reddys Laboratories, Glenmark Pharma and Ipca Laboratories in the pharmaceuticals segment. (Check out - Which sectors are attracting Fund Managers)

In the telecommunication pack, the fund bought Idea Cellular and Bharti Airtel. However, it sold Tata Communications from the same pack.
