NAVs decline as markets slip

Equity diversified NAVs ended lower with advance:decline ratio of 4:239 as the Indian equity benchmarks continued their downward journey on Thursday.


Equity diversified NAVs ended lower with advance:decline ratio of 4:239 as the Indian equity benchmarks continued their downward journey on Thursday. The NSE benchmark Nifty fell over a 1% led by panic selling in the last one hour of trade. Major sectors like oil & gas, technology, financial and infrastructure also faced selling pressure.



The 30-share BSE Sensex lost 247.37 points, to close at 17,693.18 and the 50-share NSE Nifty slipped 73 points, to end at 5,331.80.



Sector fund too decline. However Long and Short term debt funds ended with positive returns, their advance:decline ratio stood at 73:6 & 128:3, respectively.
