DLF, Sterlite Ind, Cipla top sells: DSP BlackRock MF

DSP BlackRock Mutual Fund has slashed its exposure in retail & real estate, banking & financial services and pharmaceuticals space, while increased its weightage in information technology, oil & gas and tobacco sector.

DSP BlackRock Mutual Fund has slashed its exposure in retail & real estate, banking & financial services and pharmaceuticals space, while increased its weightage in information technology, oil & gas and tobacco sector.

DLF, Sterlite Industries (India) and Cipla were the top sells, while Jaiprakash Power Ventures, Triveni Turbine and Hindalco Industries were the top buys.

A study of the DSP BlackRock Mutual Fund portfolio for the month of February 2013 showed that in the retail & real estate sector it sold DLF, Pantaloon Retail and Prestige Estates Projects, while it bought Oberoi Realty.

The fund sold SBI, Bank Of Baroda, IndusInd Bank and also exited Reliance Capital, Jammu and Kashmir Bank and Indian Bank in the banking & financial services space. However, it purchased Power Finance Corp, Cholamandalam Investment, HDFC Bank and introduced City Union Bank and Dhanlaxmi Bank in the same space. (View - All Bulk Deals by Mutual Funds).

It sold Lupin, Cadila Healthcare, Strides Arcolab and exited Cipla in the pharmaceuticals sector. But it bought Dr Reddys Laboratories, Glenmark Pharma and Aurobindo Pharma.

In the information technology pack, it bought Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra and Mahindra Satyam. (Check out - Which sectors are attracting Fund Managers?)

It purchased Reliance Industries, ONGC and BPCL in the oil & gas segment. However, it sold Petronet LNG.

In the tobacco pack it purchased ITC.
