Nation Stock Exchange’s (NSE’s) MD & CEO Ashish Chauhan has been awarded by Regulation Asia in Singapore on Monday for his contribution to the securities market. Chauhan has over three decades of experience in securities market and a founding key team member of the NSE.

Chauhan in his tweet on X wrote, “Humbled and deeply grateful to receive the first-ever Lifetime Achievement Award from @RegulationAsia this evening in Singapore.”

Before joining NSE, the IIT Bombay and IIM graduate was earlier MD & CEO of BSE and is credited for the listing of the exchange. Chauhan has over three decades of experience in the securities market and known for his deep understanding of technology and the financial world.

A technocrat from IIT Bombay and IIM Calcutta, Chauhan is a founding member of the NSE and has been involved in the automation of stock markets in India since 1992. He is credited with setting up screen-based trading, satellite telecom, the NIFTY Index, derivatives trading and many other modern developments in the Indian stock market. He is considered the father of modern financial derivatives in India due to his pioneering work in the field.
