NBCC shares surged nearly 2 percent on April 11 after the company released two positive updates about its sales. The shares of the company closed at Rs 89 apiece.

In an exchange filing released on April 11, the Navratna company announced that it has successfully sold 560 residential units at Aspire Leisure Park in Greater Noida. The units were sold through an e-auction and have a total sale value of over Rs 1,153 crore. "NBCC will get marketing fee at the rate of 1 percent of sale value," the company further said.

In another exchange filing released in the post market hours of April 9, NBCC had announced that it sold 1,185 residential units at Phase III of Aspire Dream Valley in Greater Noida through an e-auction at a total sale value of nearly Rs 1,504.69 crore.

Earlier during the day, the shares of the PSU company had hit a one-month high of Rs 90 apiece. The stock has made a strong recovery of nearly 26 percent after hitting a 52-week low of Rs 70.80 apiece on March 3. The stock however is still 36 percent lower than its 52-week high of Rs 139.83 apiece, which it had hit on August 28.

Sri Lakshmi from Greater Noida Industrial Authority recently spoked about the prospects of the city. While speaking at the Rising Bharat Summit, she said, "Greater Noida is a greenfield project. So it was not that it was once a center or a city in olden days and later it got developed or it grew. It was entirely planned from scratch. So the land was acquired and plans were made, sectors were made, different sectors for residence, commercial activity, industry, institution all were planned; broad streets, green areas, open spaces all were planned."

She further added, "So being a well-planned city which is, you know, in just a handful all over India is one big thing. People prefer, it is not just profession or work which people now look for. It is like livability in a city which actually helps make people choices. So in that way Greater Noida is a well-planned city and people from Delhi even prefer to come and settle down in Greater Noida and commute from there in that manner."
