D-Street Buzz: Metals fall with Hindalco down 2%; Capital Trust zooms 20%, Bharat Forge falls

The breadth of the market favoured the declines with 444 stocks advancing and 1056 declining while 539 remained unchanged. On the BSE, 485 stocks advanced, 990 declined and 81 remained unchanged.

The Indian stock market are trading in the red following weak Asian cues and also with the RBI MPC outcome later in the day. The Nifty50 is down 63 points, trading at 10,805 while the Sensex shed 201 points and is trading at 35,932.

Nifty Metal is down over 1 percent dragged by JSPL, JSW Steel, Hindalco Industries, SAIL, Tata Steel and Hindustan Copper.

FMCG stocks are also weak with loses from Jubilant Foodworks, Emami, Dabur India, ITC, Hindustan Unilever, Godrej Consumer, United Spirits and Godrej Industries among others.

From the auto space, the top losers are Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bharat Forge, Motherson Sumi Systems, Eicher Motors and Ashok Leyland.

Selective banks are down as IndusInd Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, IDFC Bank and YES Bank traded lower.

From the BSE midcap space, the top gainers are Edelweiss Financial Services, Apollo Hospitals and Oracle Financial Services while the top losers are Bharat Forge, Adani Power and Jindal Steel & Power.

The top smallcap gainers are Capital Trust which zoomed 20 percent followed by Trigyn Tech and Thangamayil Jewellery while the top losers included Bharat Road Network, Kesoram Industries and Prakash Industries.

The top gainers from NSE include Indian Oil Corporation, ONGC, BPCL, HPCL and Bharti Infratel.

The top losers included Hindalco Industries, Tata Motors, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Titan Company and IndusInd Bank.

The most active stocks were YES Bank, Sun Pharma, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Bharat Forge and HDFC.

42 stocks have hit new 52-week low including names like ABG Shipyard, Dish TV, IL&FS Engineering and Construction, IL&FS Transportation Networks, Kirloskar Brothers, Punj Lloyd, Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company and UFO Moviez among others.
