Stock exchange BSE Ltd on August 28 proposed to allow pre-open trading in futures and options from December 8.
"...it is proposed to introduce Pre-Open Session for index & stock futures in the Equity Derivatives Segment from Monday, December 08, 2025 onwards. Trading members are requested to note that there shall be no new changes in the ETI API or market data broadcast streams to facilitate roll-out of the said functionality. Exchange already supports Pre-Open Session trading in the Equity Segment; now same message structures and field definitions will be applicable for Pre-Open Session trading in the Equity Derivatives Segment," said BSE in a statement.
Changes related to pre-open session in the Equity Derivatives Segment shall be made available for testing from October 6, 2025, in test (simulation) environment, the exchange said.
"Members and third-party front-end trading application vendors are requested to initiate changes in their respective applications and test the same in the test environment to ensure a smooth rollout," said BSE.
At 2 pm on August 28, BSE shares were trading 0.5% lower at Rs 2,206 apiece.
Meanwhile, capital market stocks continued to fall for third consecutive session as the benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty fell on August 28.
With markets facing selling pressure as additional 25% punitive US tariffs on local imports took effect, shares like Angel One, MCX also were trading in red.
At 1:50 pm on August 28, the Sensex was down 593.15 points or 0.73 percent at 80,193.39, and the Nifty was down 164.25 points or 0.66 percent at 24,547.80. About 1,290 shares advanced, 2,309 shares declined, and 125 shares were unchanged.
360 One Wam Ltd was the biggest loser among the 15 constituents of the index by declining 4%.
UTI AMC and Angel One shares fell 3.5% and 3.2%, respectively. Shares of MCX and HDFC AMC were down 3% and 2%, respectively.
