The Indian rupee opened at 44.97 per dollar versus 45.06 yesterday.

Ssharad D Pawaar, SPFX India said that, "The rupee is expected to gain marginally against the dollar. The positive sentiment across global equity markets may also support the currency. The range for the day is seen between 44.90-45.05/$."
