The market breadth was in favour of the advances with 929 stocks advancing while 781 declined and 338 remained unchanged. On the other hand, in the BSE, 1364 stocks advanced and 1191 declined and 152 remained unchanged.
The Indian equity market was trading on a positive note on Tuesday morning with the Nifty adding 18 points and was trading at 10,546 while the Sensex was up 80 points or 0.23 percent.
Bank Nifty was in the green as ICICI Bank gained over 1 percent. HDFC Bank was also trading higher in the afternoon trade.
Nifty Realty was up 1 percent led by Godrej Properties which jumped 4.26 percent followed by Indiabulls Real Estate which added 1.3 percent.Oberoi Realty and DLF were the other gainers.
The top Nifty gainers included Power Grid of India which was jumped close to 3 percent while MTPC was up 2 percent. Hindustan Unilever, Lupin and Titan Company were the other gainers.
The most active Nifty stocks included Indiabulls Ventures which was down 2.8 percent while Dewan Housing Finance was up 2 percent. HDFC, TCS and Infosys were the other active stocks.
The top Nifty losers were Wipro, Bharti Infratel, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Axis Bank and Sun Pharma.
The top BSE gainers included Indiabulls Ventures which was up 11 percent followed by DCB Bank, Bajaj Electricals, Indian Hotels and South Indian Bank.
